05/15/1930 : Northern Pacific Railway's new North Coast Limited passenger train begins service.
07/12/1930 : The Union Pacific Railroad abandons operation of the Ilwaco Railroad.
02/19/1931 : Great Northern, Northern Pacific & Spokane Portland & Seattle Railways, 1927 unification application
is withdrawn.
03/29/1931 : Great Northern Railway's Oriental Limited passenger service is discontinued.
01/02/1932 : The Northern Pacific Transport Company begins operation.
12/18/1932 : Northern Pacific Railway's Tacoma & Idaho Divisions are extended to Yakima, Washington & the Pasco
Division is eliminated.
02/13/1934 : Construction begins on the Spokane Portland & Seattle Railway grain elevator at Vancouver, Washington.
06/29/1935 : The Milwaukee Railroad is forced into bankruptcy for the second time.
01/01/1936 : The Oregon Washington Railroad & Navigation Company is leased to the Union Pacific Railroad.
10/22/1937 : Spokane Portland & Seattle Railway's #900 locomotive makes its first run from Spokane to Pasco, WA.
04/09/1938 : Northern Pacific Railway line from Sunnyside Jct. to Granger, Washington is removed.
12/26/1938 : The Northern Pacific Railway's first diesel locomotive #100 begins service at Seattle, Washington.
03/02/1939 : Great Nothern Railway recives its first diesel locomotive.
09/04/1939 : The Northern Pacific Railway president Charles Donnelly dies.
